Peacefully situated along a country track, with few near neighbours, Casa Valentin is the perfect holiday hideaway. Nestling amongst it's own mature olive groves within a very pretty valley, this charming little house is surrounded by ancient olive and carob trees, together with lemon almond and fig.
BIRD WATCH ALERT!! We are reputed to have a pair of seldom seen Eagle owls nesting in the cliff (el tajo) adjoining our olive grove - please let us know of any sightings! We believe we have heard them but they are proving elusive!
Enjoying spectacular views over the surrounding olive clad hills and countryside, towards the stunning Sierra Tejada and Mount Maroma, Casa Valentin is an authentic 2 bedroomed finca set in approximately 2 acres of olive groves dotted with natural rock formations and an abundance of wild plants and trees. We even have our own small cliff!
Already a pretty house in it´s own right, we have aimed for a sympathetic and low key restoration, retaining the original features of a time gone-by - including hand made floor tiles, eucalyptus ceiling beams and original fireplace - to provide a comfortable holiday home from which our guests may enjoy the peace and quiet of it's unspoilt setting.
OUR OPINION: We absolutely fell in love with this old cortijo - at first sight - and our visitor comments here, have proven to be some of the very best! Casa Valentin is Ideal for anyone looking for a taste of the real Spain and offers a wonderful opportunity to experience the authentic Andalucian country-way of life, in perfectly relaxing and natural surroundings, A world away from the bustling costas - far away from the madding crowd!
YOUR ACCOMMODATION
The internal Accommodation consists of an Andalucian style farmhouse kitchen/breakfast room with all mod cons including; microwave, **gas oven and hob, butler style sink, kettle, toaster, Upright fridge/freezer, ample dishes cutlery and cool box. (There is also a washing machine situated in an outside cupboard, plus iron and ironing board). **There is also a gas hob and 2nd fridge in the BBQ area for Summer kitchen use.
The Sitting room has the original open fireplace, two sofas, coffee and side tables, satellite TV, plus Dining table and chairs for four.
We also have a plentiful supply of novels and some videos to help you unwind. Double doors lead from the sitting room onto a shaded South facing terracotta terrace, overlooking the PRIVATE filtered POOL again with lovely views.
Comfortably sleeping upto four people, the well appointed bedrooms consist of; One Double Bedroom with ENSUITE shower room, with a tiled walk in shower, wash basin and wc, and a further Twin Bedroom with single beds, complimented by a separate (4 piece) fully tiled bathroom comprising; bath with shower attachment, wash hand basin, wc and bidet.
OUTSIDE:
The south facing sun terrace has a traditional bamboo canopy, providing shade from the heat of the midday sun. Furnished with table and chairs, and an extended BBQ/bar/outdoor kitchen area with wrought iron BBQ, (winches up and down!) second fridge, additional gas hob, ornamental pot sink and food preparation counter. it's a perfect place to relax and enjoy the views; from the sun rising beyond the Sierras to the eagles soaring overhead - every day is different!
The mosaic tiled 8x4 metre private SWIMMING POOL is a recent addition, and has been designed to blend into it's natural surroundings, fringed by loquat, lemon and carob trees - framing a stunning mountain view to the East. The spacious pool terrace is a continuation of the al fresco dining area and is furnished with sunloungers and outside lighting - for those magical evenings under the stars!
There is plenty of parking to the rear of the property, from where, a terracotta pathway leads you to a smaller furnished patio area, bordered by lilac, lemon, dog rose and prickly pear - scenting the air when in fragrant blossom. This early morning suntrap has a superb mountain view.
The original outdoor bread oven can also be seen here, and guests are welcome to wander around the gardens and help themselves to a fresh lemon straight from the tree - a perfect garnish for the BBQ lunch, or a cool gin and tonic!
FURTHER AFIELD:
With Granada and the Alhambra Palace, Ronda, Seville and ski-ing at the sierra Nevada all within reasonable travelling distance, there's plenty to do. There are also several natural/National parks, lakes and hot springs nearby, and the area is inspirational for artists, writers, birdwatching and botany, whilst even closer to home, you may like to walk the (dry) river bed! Take a mule ride or simply sample a home made tapa with a chilled glass of vino - or two!

The final approach to the finca is along a one mile (1.6km) unmade, single DIRT track road. If you'd like further information regarding access, please check before booking this accommodation.
